2014
Boys’ hostel then was converted in to Sunrise Academy, a modern co-educational English medium school with the mission to provide quality education. It also aims to instill ethical values in the students who come from surrounding vicinity including the girls of our own Girls’ Academy.
2004
In the year 2004, the work of construction was completed with the support of donors. The building with a capacity of 200 girls took place and this was only possible with the kind support of donors. Due to the efforts put on by the well-wishers and our donors, this grand noble mission could not have materialized.
2002
After getting an expert opinion the said damaged building was repaired in the year 2001-02 with the kind support of Rai Jamal Karim Family Trust. In June 2002, the girls’ hostel was started in the said boys’ hostel provisionally with the request of leaders, parents & leaders of the council of Kutch, as there was no facility available for them after the demolition of that building.
2001
Due to the devastating earthquake on 26th January 2001 in Kutch, our hostel building was badly affected. The girls’ hostel building was damaged severely, it was found necessary to get it demolished soon. The hostel building for boys was found repairable after verification. Before the earthquake, there were 80 boys and 165 girls getting were education. This severe earthquake affected the girls’ hostel and three girls lost their lives on the spot.
2003
The girls’ hostel remain continued on provisional basis from June 2002 to Dec 2004, till the new girls’ hostel got constructed. A land was purchased to construct a modern girls’ hostel. Our donors gave support for the said big project. In the year 2003 foundation stone ceremony was conducted and thus the said grand building for Girls’ Hostel has taken place in Bhuj.
1999
The boys’ hostel remained closed till 1999 due to unavoidable circumstances. It got renovated in the year 1999 with the far sighted vision of Managing Committee and donations from donors.
1992
In the year 1992, the said newly constructed building was opened in the presence of Managing Committee.
1988
Against the conversion of boys’ hostel into girls’, in the year 1988, a land was purchased at Mirzapar Highway, Opp. Commerce College. The foundation stone ceremony of boys’ hostel was organised in the year 1989.
1985
In the year 1985, according to the guidance of our beloved Imam, a land at Bhaveshwar Nagar area was purchased by the Managing Committee and the foundation ceremony was organised on the said land. In the year 1987, the inaugural ceremony was arranged. After construction, the said proposed boys’ hostel building was handed over for girls’ hostel, keeping in view the need of education for girls as there was no facility available for them.
1955
On 10th June 1955, boys’ hostel was started with 15 students in a rental building of Jerajbhoy Peerbhoy at Waniwad, Bhuj.
